Recruiting Profile

Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Industrial Designer & Transfer Specialist to join our TEAM! As the Industrial Designer & Transfer Specialist, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as plan, organize, and manage all projects relative to design based out of the Florence Plant.

Primary Objective

Industrial Designer & Transfer Specialist is the primary person supervising the process and installations of the new ink jet machines. Working with international vendors and interacting with other experts of ink jet machines.

Major Function and Scope

Ensures safe and healthful working conditions and an organized work environment. Ensures all safety protocols are adhered too.

Ensures that Design equipment is working safely and efficiently.

Ensures that all goals related to design projects are met. Strong proficiency with PC operating systems – Windows, MAC, and other based systems. Troubleshoot and maintain complex electrical, electronics, communication, analyzing error message, and error simulation. Understand all aspects of the printer workflow – color balance, droplet size, load and print images, modify images.

Ensures operations are within specifications.

Works closely with transfer team to assure smooth product transfers.

Administers company policies correctly and in a uniform manner.

Assists with technical issues on digital printing technologies, and ensures equipment is maintained for proper operation.

Assists in supporting the development of new and innovative projects.

Keeps area safe, clean, and organized.

Performs other related duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent. Knowledge of ceramic tile production, product development, and inkjet technology as applied to ceramic tile production.

Minimum of ten years of new product development as it relates to ceramic tile production. Experience with inkjet technology, and production problem solving is required.

Competencies

Must be knowledgeable of all areas of ceramic processing. Must be capable of coordinating multiple activates of numerous projects with tight deadlines. Must be very detail oriented, highly organized, and must be a self-starter. This individual must also be able to handle multiple tasks, be able to trouble shoot and have good communication skills. Must have strong proficiency with PC operating systems – Windows, MAC, and other based systems.
