Primary Objective

The Senior Transportation Analyst is the main point of contact for North America LTL support and is the liaison between our customers and LTL carriers. This individual will communicate with carriers, distribution center personnel, and other internal team members while understanding service level requirements and key performance indicators. Qualified candidate must have fundamental analytical skills. Candidate must be organized, thoughtful, positive, and able to easily adapt to different situations that come up daily.

  • Responsible for daily execution of transportation needs, including tracking, tracing and scheduling shipments, communicating status updates with internal team.

  • Analyze LTL data, identify opportunities and present recommendations to reduce cost and improve process.

  • Manage and resolve daily carrier service issues, failures and delays.

  • Engage and support LTL carrier needs at shipping facilities’ trailer pool points.

  • Proactively measure, enforce and communicate carrier key performance indicators (KPI’s) for quality logistics performance, timely transit, and operational service. Take corrective action as needed in partnership with transportation management.

  • Establish and maintain periodic communication with our LTL Sales Representatives.

  • Manage Corporate LTL mailbox and respond timely and effectively to requests.

  • Manage Corporate OSD mailbox and respond timely and effectively to requests.

  • Process manual BOL’s/RMA’s as necessary by creating BOL and scheduling pick up requests.

  • Manage and execute periodic volume “rollouts” through the use if mini-bids or other means.

  • Provide rate quotes to internal teams to assist in determining carrier selection.

  • Establish strong relationships with customers, carriers, and internal team members.

  • Maintain LTL carrier contact list.

  • Support other modes as needed.

Experience and Knowledge Required

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Ability to respond effectively to customers, agents, associates, and managers.

Ability to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply concepts pertinent to the field.

Proficiency in Microsoft office applications and have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly.

Practical knowledge of SAP and/or TMS system strongly desired.

Three (3) or more years transportation/distribution experience.

Strong knowledge of LTL industry & carriers, NMFC, and rate structures, including assessorials.

Bid events and negotiating.
