Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Productivity Engineer to join our TEAM! As a Productivity Engineer, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of plant and project support efforts such as supporting lean implementation, ideating opportunities and driving plants to higher efficiency, leading initiatives to reduce waste, provide project management on occasion, and manage initiatives towards successful completion.
Manages the productivity activities for the manufacturing plants. Serves to both ideate and implement projects whenever possible.
Major Function and Scope
Provides support of lean implementation at the manufacturing plants for the company.
Work with plant manufacturing teams to ideate opportunities and assist with implementation strategies.
Help plants as needed to develop productivity charters for compliance with the Dal-Tile productivity program.
Monitors other similar markets to identify alternative technologies and efficiency techniques that support cost savings for the company.
Complies with all federal and state policies and monitors policies for changes.
Consults with plant and headquarters personnel to determine production equipment requirements.
Supports and maintains project safety management protocols on all projects that are in compliance with Dal-Tile safety program requirements.
Manages engineering productivity efforts with the plants in a mentoring, teaching and support role.
When providing project management support, selects, negotiates and oversees contractors for engineering projects.
Performs other related duties and special projects as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline. Strong technical and manufacturing processes knowledge, including plant engineering and the construction market.
8+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment. Ceramic tile R&D and Manufacturing background strongly preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels in the organization. Ability to influence behavior effectively and be able to elicit the support needed to implement change management. Strong problem solving, negotiation and project management skills. Must have the ability to achieve positive and consistent results. Excellent PC skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. Ability to travel in the US and abroad.
