During the training program the SSC MANAGER TRAINEE develops a clear understanding of how to increase product sales within assigned store coverage area in order to achieve company objectives. Develops and retains effective working relationships with customers to achieve and exceed sales goals, maximize market penetration and margin potential, as well as, manage store operations and personnel to ensure all activities are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Major Functions and Scope:

  • Attends and successfully completes all appropriate Dal-Tile University training programs.

  • Gains a clear understanding of the warehouse functions in an SSC.

  • Gains a clear understanding of the customer service function and company expectations regarding customer service.

  • Gains the ability to assist customers in the Showroom regarding selection of products.

  • Gains hands on experience and knowledge to become proficient in various Dal-Tile computer systems such as ASI, JDE, PC and On Demand.

  • Learns the Safety Program goals and expectations and gains the knowledge and ability to properly train associates in the Safety Program.

  • Works closely with SSC Manager to gain a clear understanding of their responsibilities including:

  • Developing business relationships with key customers within the store coverage area.

  • Working closely with customer to maximize market penetration and margin potential.
  • Reviewing market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates.
  • Advising customer on product selection, pricing and sales volume to build customer relations.
  • Meeting with key customers to negotiate and close deals.
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to accommodate corporate goals.

  • Performs other related duties as required

Education and Knowledge

HS diploma and 3+ years relevant sales experience required OR Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and 0-1 year relevant sales experience

Experience

HS diploma and 3+ years relevant sales experience required OR Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and 0-1year relevant sales experience. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.

Competencies

Strong interpersonal skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Good time management and organizational skills. Good training, teamwork, and leadership skills. Ability to “multi-task.” Demonstrated follow-up and follow-through skills. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
