Dal-Tile Material Handler II-Inventory Control in Sunnyvale, Texas

Primary Objective:

In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose or primary objective of this position.

Maintains accurate inventory data in Warehouse Management System (WMS) by researching and correcting any errors or discrepancies, and conducts MH2 reponsibilities.

Major Functions and Scope:

Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function or responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate.

  • Maintains accurate inventory data in Warehouse Management System (WMS).

  • Identifies and researches inventory system discrepancies and errors.

  • Verifies actual location and count of product in warehouse and corrects information in WMS.

  • Operates various industrial powered equipment to transport product as needed.

  • Assists Manager in reviewing Inventory Transfer Discrepancies. (ITD’s)

  • Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.

  • Follows standard operating and safety procedures.

  • Keeps area safe, clean and organized.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Picking

-Operate powered industrial truck(s) to assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets.

-Keys order into Warehouse Management System (WMS)

-Verifies stock availability and audits orders for accuracy

-Conveys picked orders to packing station or shipping areas

Receiving

-Operates various powered industrial trucks to receive product into warehouse and prepare for stocking

-Opens crates and inspects product

-Applies labels to product according to establishing procedures

-Verifies shading of product and places into accurate warehouse location

Putaway

-Utilizes powered industrial equipment to move product into pre-designated areas within warehouse once received

-Keys location of product into inventory control system and places product onto shelves

-Ensures product is placed into accurate location

SPC Check/Pack Checking

-Wraps and packs products by hand into boxes for shipping

-Labels boxes with packing slip

-Loads boxes into conveyor belt

-Verifies orders for accuracy

General

-Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor

-Follows standard operating and safety procedures

-Keeps area safe, clean, and organized

-Performs other related duties as required

Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Supervision:

Describe the education, knowledge required, years of experience, specific skills and abilities required to do the job on a fully competent basis.

Education and Knowledge: Describe the educational background and knowledge that arerequired.

High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience: Describe the work experience(s) that arerequired.

1-2 years previous distribution/warehouse experience. Prior inventory control experience preferred.

Competencies:Describe the specific skills required for this position in terms of technical, managerial, interpersonal skills and unique abilities.

Good oral and written communications skills. Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. Accurate measurement capability. Ability to understand and speak basic English. Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner. Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.

Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
