Lead a world class organization that fosters safety and health as a core value, specifically when it pertains to work process, work conditions, and organization.
Work directly with planning on schedule, complexities and optimization of material flow through the process so that we can make effective use of labor and equipment and drive out waste.
Leads and directs the daily activities of the team members, technicians and maintenance to ensure safe work practices and the creation of quality product. Performance review responsibility, as well as coaching and counseling when necessary.
Responsible for manufactured product, ensuring that through the technical process we are driving quality improvements and maintaining equipment. Compliance to machine set-up and parameters, as well as finished specifications is vital.
Oversees Polish and final grade process of slabs before transferring to RDC.
Create development process for technicians and maintenance that aids in machine usage, material knowledge, recognition and improvement; as well as updating any new operational processes that apply.
Responsible for preventive and predictive maintenance programs that assist in increasing the uptime of the material processing equipment.
Serves as a liaison between Mold Line Manager, RDC Manager, and production regarding manufactured products.
Create vendor relationships to provide the facility with the latest technology and best practices that will aid in our plan and ensure we have necessary tooling/abrasives to accommodate forecasted production schedule.
Participates or leads the new associate selection, onboarding and training process in the Polish Department. Also, directly responsible for ensuring that cross-training is completed between the team members and technicians in all Operations areas.
Updates and trains to all Standard Operating Procedures and Test Methods that are deemed integral parts of the polishing process portion of the facility.
Establishes, maintains, and analyzes budgets, records, and other controls to keep costs at a minimum consistent with efficient operations.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Requires knowledge of safety policy and procedures. Ability to read/write English. Basic computer literacy. Knowledge of quartz manufacturing and quality standards preferred.
4 or more years of operations experience and 1 to 2 years’ supervisory experience.
Quartz industry experience preferred, specifically in the Polishing function.
Core competencies include strong communication and listening skills, leadership skills, organizational skills, conflict resolution skills, and ability to analyze, plan and schedule.
