Dal-Tile is currently searching for a detail-oriented Stone Project Manager with strong organizational and project management skills along with the ability to estimate commercial stone projects. The qualified applicant will have a strong knowledge base of natural stone materials including granites, marbles, limestones, as well as quartz and other man-made materials. This individual will support and drive stone cut to size sales for Dal-Tile. You will have the opportunity to drive projects to successful completion and create meaningful relationships with prospective customers including Architects, Designers, Developers, General Contractors and Fabricators who will utilize Dal-Tile products to complete their projects. Your ability to read blueprints and understand detailed architectural drawings will be essential to the success of the position. You work side by side with industry experts who you will collaborate with to provide Dal-Tile customers with exceptional service. Project Management / Procurement / Technical Support:

  • Coordinate with client, architect to meet project and design specifications for final and successful completion.

  • Oversee all aspects of fabrication, shop drawings, cutting tickets, range sample adherence, sequence and scheduling to meet client schedule.

  • Oversees project buy-out, negotiates pricing with vendors to adhere to contract award and estimated budgets.

  • Review and communicate material range requirements to factory /client to ensure project specified expectations.

  • Solution minded to resolve technical issues working with client, vendors and other trade contractors.

  • Assess best stone and vendor options to meet material specifications or intended applications.

  • Coordinate stone drawings and details and sub-trade contractors to ensure final size.

Sales & Estimating:

  • Leverages industry knowledge and technical expertise to gain sales with new and existing clients.

  • Grows market share by increasing sales, margin growth and gross profit with improved buyout and scope negotiation.

  • Travel as required to meet with prospective and existing clients, architects, designers, developers, general contractors.

  • Reads and interprets architectural drawings for best practice, material identification and application.

  • Prepares, reviews and quantity surveys for vendor pricing for appropriate materials for each project.

  • Coordinate with global stone partnerships for material identification and procurement.

  • Provide stone technical assistance to internal and external customers.

  • Supports national account, sales, architectural reps and managers project leads for complete project pricing and successful completion.

  • Fosters repeat business through hands-on customer care and communication on assigned projects.

Education and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or similar work experience - highly preferred

  • Strong understanding of natural stone including wall, floor tile, mosaics, interior and exterior cladding and countertops.

  • Strong architectural blueprint plan skills.

  • Working knowledge of field and trades a plus. Stone fabrication, Installation and or global/domestic supply.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly organized while managing and documenting multiple and wide ranging projects in a fast paced work environment.

  • Ability to function with minimal supervision and project ownership.

  • Good composure when facing challenging situations – solution oriented.

  • Computer skills preferred of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AutoCAD & other digital estimating software.


  • 5+ years related experience in drafting, estimating and project management in the natural stone or related industry.

  • 5+ years experience managing and estimating commercial, healthcare, institutional, hospitality and residential projects.


  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under little or no supervision.

  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects with a widely varying range of requirements.

  • Proven interpersonal skills including influencing and negotiation skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate solid time management and organizational skills.

  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation are required.
