Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Sr Project Manager – New Launch/HCS to join our TEAM!

Primary Objective

The Sr Project Manager-New Launch/ HCS has oversight for product development coordination and marketing expectations of home improvement retail customers. The Project Manager also has oversight for the coordination of all SBU new launch contributors and elements to achieve objective and execution for launch execution per timeline. Responsible for the overall direction, execution, control and completion of all marketing materials for each customer. Ensures the established brand guidelines are implemented with the launch of new products. Establishes proper communication structures between sales and the larger cross functional marketing group (Marketing Services, Product, R&D, & Brand).

Major Function and Scope

Project Management Responsibilities

Home Center:

  • Supports the needs of home improvement retail accounts with product launches, new stores, and other training activities.

  • Assists HC Sales Manager and provides oversight between sales and the larger marketing organization on defined projects.

  • Implements agreed upon assets determined in the commercialization plan.

  • Collaborates with Brand Managers to reinforce established brand guidelines with respect to each consumer base.

  • Provides oversight to Product Management, R&D and Manufacturing to coordinate elements within timeline.

  • Drives projects with Marketing Services to develop boards and ensure on time in-store execution.

  • Drives board design confirmation, store counts, and communicates appropriate timelines to Product and Mfg.

  • Works with Marketing Services to ensure orders placed in.

  • Project planning and management for marketing projects for home improvement retail accounts.

  • Leads cross-functional meetings in order to accomplish goals.

  • Tracks project deliverables, provides direction to both internal production teams.

  • Monitors and reports progress of projects on a regular basis through established meetings.

New Product Launch:

  • Provides direction and oversight for all elements of SBU product launch – from design kick-off to official launch.

  • Align Design Team - coordinate and integrate elements in launch process. Administer and enforce all timeline requirements.

  • Product Team and Brand Kick-off meetings.

  • Clear definition and finalization of product design; communicate with R&D and Product Management.

  • Manage and maintain timeline for Design to enter attributes, select and approve punches, structures, signed masters to move development forward and other design elements.

  • Communicate, publish, and revise product development with R&D and update timeline(s).

  • Confirm technology, plant, sizes, finishes, etc. with R&D/Mfg and advise all to maintain alignment.

  • Assure sample needs are provided to achieve sample delivery on time, whether semi-industrial or full production.

  • Strong Interaction and collaboration with Product Team for coordination of all functions to achieve on-time launch.

  • All PIM elements, entry, and accuracy.

  • Completion of forecasts, TMC/List as well as confirmation of plant standards and margin requirements.

  • Confirm MDM, SAP and Pricing Team data completed and provided.

  • Verify respective plants have provided all content in PIM to enable completion of content by PM’s.

  • Proofing of all packaging, literature, and marketing collateral.

  • Write Product Bulletins and provide to Marketing per timeline.

  • Provide content for webinars and launch meetings.

  • Coordinates needed information from Marketing to Product Managers.

  • Product naming – series and colors.

  • Marketing elements – Sales Sheets, Website, Arch and Selection Boards – interaction, auditing, and input.

  • Work closely with Product Managers and Marketing Services on all requirements and timelines for samples, scans, and proofing.

  • Assure Marketing Services places orders in timely and efficient manner with all quantities clearly defined.

  • Monitor tracking and scheduling by Marketing Services to assure all marketing collateral is at fabrication site by delivery of sample material to support timely production.

Product Management Responsibilities:

  • Participates in product strategy and introduction of new products.

  • Presents and communicates new product and programs to field sales groups and customers.

  • Identifies and meets with new and existing vendors to evaluate new product opportunities.

  • Coordinates with R&D, Manufacturing, and vendors in development of new products and management of existing products.

  • Investigates and resolves various service and qualities issues as identified by sales force, and customers.

  • Develops Product Plans and Forecasts for new products and transition products.

  • Conducts various financial analysis including product line forecasts, inventory planning, pricing, and gross margin analysis.

  • Prepares product launch objectives and oversees phases of product development, PIM implementation and introduction to market.

  • Engages and collaborates in market research, tracks market trends and assists in identifying market requirements.

  • Monitor and proactively track trends in the industry and identify market requirements for products.

  • Manages specific programs as identified by Management.

  • Works with Marketing to develop and proof sales collateral materials.

  • Participate and monitor all elements of sales activity – volume, revenue, and margins against forecasted expectations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Knowledge Required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet Applications required.

  • Experience marketing in the floor covering or building product categories a plus.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of direct work experience in coordinating project requirements and delivering on time and on budget within a marketing organization.

  • Strong track record of effective communication skills working with different internal and external customers.

  • Experience with finished building products and multi-brand development preferred.

Competencies

  • Interest in home design.

  • Self-starter with strong multitasking, organization, project management, problem resolution, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to prioritize projects in order to meet all customers’ expectations.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Has a strong working knowledge and understanding of marketing mix, creative and collateral production.

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills for the purpose of accomplishing work objectives; developing relationships with other individuals by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating other's efforts and point of views.

  • Performs duties with some latitude for independent judgment and decision making within the framework of the position.

  • Ability to influence and foster teamwork at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
