Dal-Tile SALES DIRECTOR - ROOFING in Dallas, Texas

Dal-Tile is seeking a roofing sales director to drive product awareness and adoption in major roof tile markets. This dynamic director will develop programs and activities to grow sales. This dynamic director will build, develop and lead field sales team while working with product management/ R&D team to gain needed certifications and enhancements.

The major function and scope:

  • Leads internal sales team – hire, coach, train, develop and motivate to achieve sales targets

  • Lead external sales team – Build manufacture rep channel and gain mindshare to help them focus and sell

  • Works closely with other departments including R&D, Marketing functions, finance and others.

  • Develops product-line specific sales promotions, communicates and monitors results.

  • Develops business relationships with national and local roofing distributors, contractors and associations across the country.

  • Represents the Company at trade association conferences and product shows to promote company product.

  • Acts as national point person for industry trade groups. Determines programs and trade shows for industry trade groups and key residential and commercial contractors.

  • Develops sales strategies including future sales organization model

  • Conducts weekly sales calls

  • Conducts market analysis in each area

  • Researches area market product data to determine the types, styles and sizes most commonly purchased in the assist in development ideas and product sales

  • Grows market share by increasing sales and sales volume while maintaining company approved product margin goals.

  • Performs other assigned duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Working knowledge of both commercial and residential roofing product and distribution methods.

  • Five plus years of sales management, in roofing industry preferred

Competencies:

  • Core competencies include strong communication and interpersonal skills, listening skills, customer focus, organization, data analysis and interpretation. Strong leadership skills, excellent strategic thinking, planning, problem solving and conflict resolution with the ability to plan, schedule, relate ideas and coordinate priorities. Good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.
