Dal-Tile is seeking a people focused Pilot Plant Supervisor to plan, organize and manage one or more assigned work groups.

The major function and scope:

  • Ensures safe and healthy working conditions and an organized work environment.

  • Ensures inventories of all Pilot Plant working materials are up to date.

  • Ensures that R&D equipment is working safely and efficiently.

  • Ensures that R&D Pilot Plant goals are met.

  • Collaborates with Maintenance Supervisor to ensures availability of spare parts to maintain daily operations.

  • Collaborates with Maintenance Supervisor in coordinating maintenance needs for departmental operations.

  • Coordinates headcount and staffing needs for department to maintain daily operations.

  • Ensures operations are within specifications.

  • Administers company policies correctly and in a uniform manner.

  • Plans, schedules, and assigns work to meet daily R&D Pilot Plant work schedule.

  • Instructs lab tech employees regarding performance requirements.

  • Assists with technical issues on digital printing technologies, and insures equipment is maintained for proper operation.

  • Assists in supporting the development of new and innovative projects.

  • Creates purchasing orders to keep an adequate supply of needed materials for the R&D Pilot Plant and other R&D Departments.

Education, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to read and write English

  • Basic computer literacy (Outlook, Microsoft Office, SAP, Kronos, and Photoshop)

  • Knowledge of tile quality standards preferred

  • Ability to review/test practices and procedures to identify possible improvements for the quality of the product(s).
