Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Material Planner to join our TEAM! As the Material Planner, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as communicating with various business groups on the production, planning and distribution of productions schedules and purchase orders.
Primary Objective
Coordinates the production, purchase and distribution of ceramic tile and natural stone inventory.
Major Function and Scope
Prepare weekly or daily production schedules and/or purchase orders
mock schedules as required for Plant planning/cycle time information
Standard communication with Suppliers, Plants, Marketing, Finance, RDCs, Transportation, Plant Purchasing, Customer Service, Accounts Payable, etc
Attend weekly meetings with Plants, Suppliers, Marketing, etc
Respond to Customer Service emails within 2 hours
Prioritize and expedite orders with Suppliers based available inventory and need
Expedite orders with Transportation
Prioritize receipts with the RDCs
Review and report on Plant and/or Supplier performance
Participate in product launch planning and communication
Provide information to plant purchasing to aid in determining raw material stock- standard data like LUW Rotation file and monthly Supplier forecast
Resolve OS&D issues
Resolve Accounts Payable issues
Standard planning operations
Determine items with excess inventory-reporting and analysis
Identify redeployment opportunities and determine at what level to redeploy
Determine ATP based on customer requirements
Identify and communicate supply constraints with possible solutions
Understand and explain service or in-stock issues
Reconcile purchase orders based pro-forma and final shipping
Resolve old POS, late GIT, B1 orders, transfer orders, purchase orders not shipped, 18 month dates, or documents not received
Maintain CERDs, Measure Ready Dates, Actual Ready Dates, Delay Reasons, Comments, and all fields in planning header of e-Ports
Maintain planning parameters within the system
Review and update standard DRP parameters as required (ex: Planner Name, etc…)
Review and maintain target inventory calculations
Maintain default dates
Perform log code maintenance-normal business changes like discontinuation
Perform source of supply maintenance-following recommendations from marketing
Maintain plant item master
Maintain VENDXREF table
Assign SPI or schedule adherence work-centers
Standard ad-hoc reporting/projects
Priority scheduling tools
Basic inventory modeling and analysis
RDC shipping/receiving forecast
Inventory shade exception maintenance
Experience and Knowledge Required
Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Business, Economics, Mathematics or related field. 1 or more yrs. previous material planning/supply chain management experience preferred.
“Certified in Production Inventory Management (CPIM) or Apics / ASCM designation preferred”
Competencies
Must speak and read English fluently.
Ability to enter data into computer (MS Word and Excel).
Have strong ability to grasp concepts, use a fast work pace, and have a good problem-solving attitude.
This position requires the physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs on a regular basis.
