Objectives and Overview:

Plan, develop, and execute strategic marketing and sampling plans for the commercial and builder markets that contribute to meeting and exceeding the objectives in annual Dal-Tile brand plan. Serves as point of contact and leads marketing efforts for assigned critical business area(s).

Scope of the responsibilities of the position:

Strategic

  • Closely collaborates with Senior Brand Manager and other business leaders to develop annual marketing plans and new initiatives in support of the commercial and builder segments

  • Responsible for learning and reporting on customer insights for target market segments

  • Provides direction to internal marketing teams, agency and service partners

Marketing Communications

  • Works closely with Senior Brand Manager to develop and support communication programs, advertising, publicity, etc.

  • Has an in-depth knowledge of creative strategy; able to provide direction and feedback to evaluate creative strategy and execution to insure alignment with brand communication goals

Program Management

  • Develops integrated marketing plans and collaborates with marketing teams for implementation, including digital, print, special marketing and/or sampling tools (e.g. chip chests, plank kits, etc.)

  • Organizes marketing participation in advisory groups, new product presentations, and other internal and external customer presentations

  • Collaborates with digital marketing team to drive content marketing programs and targeted digital marketing tools; manages website content in support of assigned customer segments

  • Communicates new programs and marketing initiatives to external and internal customers using various mediums including written, oral, meetings, web-based meetings, etc.

  • Develops strategy and implements all collateral materials including catalogs, sales sheets and other literature, printed + digital; manages literature allocation programs for sales teams

New Product Marketing

  • Responsible for developing and ensuring implementation of new product launch plans in the commercial and builder segments; collaborates with product marketing to develop plans against defined product strategy/objectives

  • Consults on the development of new product photography to align with brand, market and customer insights

  • Collaborates with other marketing leaders to integrate new product samples into builder and commercial markets

Budget Management

  • Develops and manages select Marketing budget accounts

  • Manages monthly forecasts

Teamwork

  • Cross-functional management of initiatives across the brand marketing, marketing services, digital and creative teams

  • Manages and directs the efforts of external vendor partners

  • Manages and directs the efforts of direct reports

Customer Interaction

  • Responsive and helpful to both internal and external customers regarding inquiries, special projects, etc.

  • Adept at working with multiple internal and external customers

Skill sets and individual contributions required:

  • Strong leadership skills, including collaboration across organization

  • Creative individual, ability to judge creative viability based on brand/product positioning

  • Knowledge of advertising strategy, creative strategy development process, and a working knowledge of media planning

  • Strong multitasking, project management, problem resolution, and customer service skills

  • Has a strong working knowledge and understanding of marketing initiatives, priorities, and disciplines

  • Genuine desire to develop relationships with teammates by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others’ efforts and points of view

  • Must be able to interact, and form positive working relationships, and present to all levels of the organization

  • Performs duties with latitude for independent judgment and decision making within the framework of the position

Education/Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of similar experience within a marketing organization

  • Agency experience is a plus

  • Experience marketing in the floor covering or building product categories a plus

  • Adept at Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project management software; strong working knowledge of salesforce.com desired
