Daltile is seeking an International Transportation Specialist that will strategically oversee and coordinate the safe passage of goods from a country of origin to final destination; while also providing superior support to the International Transportation function.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting in, coordinating and ensuring the movement and tracking of raw materials, finished goods and machinery from origin port to final destination, via ocean, rail, or OTR

  • To ensure goods arrives at the right place at the right time

  • Provide detailed information to support cost estimates, tracking of transportation and KPI’s for review for future improvements and assessment

  • Establish relationships and interact with internal/external shipping locations, forwarders, ocean shipping lines, OTR providers, and transload facilities to ensure goods materials are delivered on-time and at an optimized cost

  • Support and collaborate with internal customers and stakeholders such as Customs team, Supply Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, R&D, and Engineering

  • Updates and maintain up-to-date cargo information in appropriate tracking system and website to ensure accurate status is available throughout organization

  • Provide support to monitor ocean shipping lines contracts, while continuously ensuring that the ocean capacity reflects the needs of the business

  • Provide freight quotes and ad hoc logistics scenario planning upon request

  • Monitor and report on import logistics key performance indicators (KPI’s) for continuous improvement and cost savings

  • Provide international transportation related project support and participation

  • Analyze international transportation performance, spend data and complete root cause analysis to identify anomalies/exceptions and lead corrective actions and improvement opportunities

  • Research and trouble shoot import shipments

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of people

Education:

  • Some college or degree preferred. Strong interest in learning more about international transportation.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years in international transportation

Competencies:

  • Proficient in Excel, Access, and word-processing

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and exceed deadlines

  • SAP knowledge desired
