Dal-Tile is seeking a driven Director of Stone Sales Operations to manage the collective operations of the countertop business channel. This dynamic associate will work with the sales organization across the stone business, as well as the operations team, supporting the SBU network. This team member will also manage and lead activities concerned with developing and implementing standard operationg policies, procedures and system utilization across their area of responsibility.
The major function and scope:
Works closely with the Countertop Leadership Team to recommend, develop and implement strategies to improve operational results and drive sales growth.
Leads all sales inventory initiatives including, but not limited to, disposition, porcelain hub and spoke, stone center profiles, ordering and transfer guidance.
Drive freight synergies and savings across stone center networks including development and implementation of Dickson stock trucks.
Analyze and Implement inbound containers heavy weight analysis and actions.
Leads and drives special sales programs including, but not limited to, custom cut porcelain, Dickson fabrication, half slab, and others as needed.
Responsible for coordination and execution of systems and inventory for new Stone Center openings.
Drives process and system improvements across all countertop field operations.
Owns freight and logistics through the Stone Center network driving constant savings and improved service to our customers.
Leads all Countertop pricing initiatives including profitability analytics and implementation of market pricing.
Insures new product launches are complete and inventory is loaded in time for product launch.
Performs other related duties as required.
Education, Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; or equivalent training and experience that provides working knowledge of the regulations, practices and procedures concerned with the operations of the sale centers.
5+ years of related experience in the operation of a sales center in the tile industry or in the durable consumer products industry.
Ability to communicate knowledge and ideas effectively to associates at all levels in the organization.
Ability to analyze data and apply results effectively, training/facilitator skills, and strong project management skills and abilities
Exercises independent judgement
Ability to motivate team members and associates
Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (Excel & Access)
